Get insights on how to price your artwork for different platforms and events, and effective ways to promote your pieces to reach a wider audience.

As artists it can be very hard to assign prices for your artwork. There are many calculators and equations out there to help you, however they don't all take into consideration:
1) Where you live/sell your art.
2) How much can the majority of the population afford.
3) Have you gained your audience/following/how visible you are.
One common method is length times with plus an hourly rate. This can get pricy really quickly. This method may be good for you if you already have a large following that can afford those price points as well as art gallery shows in larger areas. It is not very good for immerging or majority of artists as most of the population can not afford those price points.
What I have found to be easy for me and what I think is affordable for my main viewer base is calculating the cost of the supplies and 10-15/hr. depending on the size, detail, and technique used. For me I am still at a point where I am building my art admirers and buyers. I also live in Northern Maine where the average person can't afford expensive art. I personally rather spread art, love and smiles than make a ton of profit right now. However, I do need to make some profit so I can get more materials and expand products and services.
Starting with more affordable pricing and increasing visibility through taking part in as many events both art and community as you can. This will help you network. You also can approach galleries, libraries, hotels and schools about having shows at them or providing art groups and other services. This will help to get your name out there while hopefully increasing sales.
P.S.
I do have sales on all products starting 5pm today through January 1st. I also am taking bookings for private paint nights at your home or client supplied locations as well as virtual options for December-February. Event tickets for
Winter and Whimsy Paint Night is also available for purchase. This is a pay what you can event. On the website it will say $3 minimum, if you can not pay that, select the pay later/pay cash option.
If you would like to spread the love and sponsor a paint night ticket or donate to the event, place the order and then email starsandmoonartandpoetry@gmail.com with your Name, contact information, donation (how many tickets and if you plan on coming or not), and address. This is so that I can send out a thank you gift and advertise you as a sponsor on the website.
